You may have noticed that we kinda like WordPress… well, it’s not just because it can help us create beautiful websites. There are many, many reasons why we tout the WordPress platform, and why we recommend it over any other platform for our clients and friends alike who often ask, “Why should I use WordPress?” Here are a few reasons why you should:

  • As of 2016, around 74.6 MILLION of the WORLD’s sites are built on WordPress (yes, really – for good reason).
  • It allows us to offer a professional, mobile responsive site for a lower price point to our clients.
  • It’s open source which = more flexibility and functionality.
  • The platform naturally supports the potential for excellent SEO.
  • We can easily connect the site to your newsletters and social accounts.
  • The blog is an automatic element – WordPress actually started as a blogging platform.
  • You can easily upgrade your site when it comes time.
  • We can train you to make many of your own edits if you’d like!
  • WordPress has a very intuitive dashboard, especially compared to its rivals: Drupal & Joomla.
  • The look and feel of a WordPress site is potentially endless, as are the different functionalities of a WordPress built site, such as a small shop.

Why Should I Use WordPress

*Thanks, InkThemes for the image. 🙂

If these stats weren’t enough, let us elaborate on how well this popular CMS does with your overall marketing presence. Because WordPress started out as a blogging platform, it has strong roots in content. Thankfully, search engines look for well organized, content-rich sites to show their viewers. Gone are the days of keyword stuffing and other “black hat” SEO practices.

Ultimately, a search engine could care less WHO shows up in their top results. All they care about is if a user is finding what they are searching for, and in order to accomplish this, they need to rank sites with the best information in relation to those key terms / topics.

That being said, when a WordPress site is built correctly and has well-written content that is then tailored to an SEO strategy, you end up with a hard-working website that returns excellent results and ROI compared to others. You just have to know how to structure it and what to look for. (Shameless plug – let us help you!) Even without our help though, getting the correct foundation alone goes a long way. Too many businesses end up paying more in the long run because they invest so much into a site that’s built on an inflexible platform, that doesn’t mesh well with the full spectrum of their digital presence and online marketing. – Just another reason to recommend WordPress.

WordPress Compared to WYSIWYG Platforms

Unfortunately, a site on its own just doesn’t cut it today. And while some of the new platforms such as Wix and SquareSpace make it seem easy to create a new site, they are missing crucial elements to making that same site work for your business. For instance, wix sites aren’t SEO friendly so you aren’t able to rank in search results as well. Instead, site platforms such as Wix only focus on the aesthetics and a fast turn around, which can be appealing, but aren’t showing the whole picture. When building a site, you want ALL the elements: beauty, functionality, UX (user experience), the ability to convert, AND show up in search results. These are the basics we look at for any site, and then some. Thankfully, WordPress covers them all.

In short, these are just a few reasons we choose to recommend and use WordPress. We hope this gives you a little info about this popular platform and its advantages over others. But as always, we’d love to answer any of your questions. Feel free to contact us to learn more.
